Labourer- Multiplex/General
LABOURER MULTIPLEX/GENERAL
The Municipality of Russell Binscarth is seeking a skilled and motivated Labourer Multiplex/General to join our facilities maintenance operations.
The successful candidate will work primarily with the Facilities Manager to maintain the Russell Memorial Multiplex and the George P. Buleziuk Hall. This includes maintenance of the facilities, maintenance of the ice in the Multiplex including operation of the Zamboni. Maintenance repairs to equipment, maintaining inventory and completion of maintenance schedules as determined from to time to time and all other duties, as assigned. Outdoors duties may include assisting Public Works staff with general maintenance projects and grass cutting during the summer months. Experience in arena maintenance will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities:
- To perform all duties as assigned and operations including but not limited to:
- Maintenance of all systems in the Multiplex including HVAC, ice plant and rink
- To clean and maintain all public spaces
- To maintain the sidewalks around the Multiplex and ensure entrances are unobstructed
- To monitor and attend various functions held in the Multiplex (flexible shift hours)
- May require after hours attendance and overtime. Shift work will be required during the ice season
- To ensure activities comply with Municipal policies and procedures
- To have current knowledge of all relevant policies, procedures and laws.
- To provide maintenance and preventative maintenance of Municipal equipment
- To maintain a safe work environment
- The right of refusal if he/she deems work to be unsafe
- To meet performance criteria with regards to operations
- To perform duties at the highest level possible
- To be subject to an annual performance evaluation
- To take training & education as may be required by the Municipality to comply with regulatory requirements
- To deal with the public in a courteous, respectful and professional manner
- To work within the policies and guidelines of the Municipality of Russell Binscarth
Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 or Equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to apply critical thinking in problem solving
- Minimum Class 5 Province of Manitoba Driver’s Licence
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Search valid within 30 days
- Please list any other relevant courses or training that have been successfully completed and are relevant to the position
- Experience operating a Zamboni an asset
- Other combinations of education
