Assiniboine Valley Recreation Commission was formed through a partnership of the Municipality of Russell Binscarth and Municipality of Riding Mountain West.  The partnership includes representation from Park West School Division and the Russell Agricultural Society. The committee meets 6 – 10 times per year or as


• To provide recreational and leisure programming for area residents

• To assist with the development and maintenance of recreational facilities

• To assess educational needs and work cooperatively to provide

• To cultivate an awareness and appreciation for the arts and culture

• To assist non-profit organizations with fund-raising projects

• To provide assistance and direction in Special Event Planning

• To provide assistance in grant research and application completion

  • Binscarth Vagabond Theatre - providing opportunities for budding actors, both young & old, to explore their stage presence
  • Many private music teachers who provide piano, voice & guitar lessons to area residents
  • Northwest Marquette Festival of Arts, which provides competition opportunities in music, dance & speech arts.
